So here are the 10 basic steps to meditation if you are new to this:

1. Choose a convenient time

Choose yourself a proper time, when you will be able to do the meditation. Choose a time when you will be free and have no such work pressure on your head. Make sure you maintain the time on a regular basis.

2. Choose a clean room

The room where you shall be practicing the meditation must be clean and tidy. This will not distract you from all the lying around objects. Clean room will also give you a hygienic ambiance.

3. Ensure to have a spacious room

Make sure your room is spacious, airy and have proper ventilation. Because you need to breathe in fresh air as you meditate.

4. Sit light stomach

Neither overeating nor starving is a good idea while meditation. Overeating will cause you uneasiness. And no eating of food can also make you feel weak. It’s better to have a light weight healthy food before meditation.

5. Get comfortable

Relax. Calm your minds. And get comfortable. Make sure you wear light comfy clothes. And stay worry free.

6. Warm up  -Breathe

Take breathes; normal breathes. Let all your worries out. Breathing and getting relaxed prepares you good for meditation.

7. Choose a mantra

Choose a mantra for your meditation. That’s something you will repeat during meditation. It will put to attention.

8. Keep a smile

Smile brings positivity. It relieves quite an amount of stress. A smile can release that tension that’s held in our facial muscle.

9. Re-focus

It often happens that your focus breaks while meditating. Do not worry for that. It happens. You need not to judge your meditation skills. Rather bring back your focus. Try to listen to your heart beat. Or go back your mantra.

10. Do not overdo

You do not need to overdo the meditation. Fix a time. And stick to that. No need to extend beyond your fixed timings.
