The bistro- The Oval Lounge hangs on the edge of the whooping 55 metre Kolkata Gate at Rabindra Tirtha in New Town. The project was fully accomplished on the 27th of January but the bistro’s door is yet to open to the city foodies.

Food lovers can now enjoy their food with the panoramic view of the surroundings from this gargantuan structure! The Kolkata gate was a part of the New Town development project of the West Bengal Government. It is not just the view that is breathtaking, the interiors pride on the rich cultural history of West Bengal while the t8unnelk leading to the restaurant is decorated with lights.

The most interesting fact about this colossal structure is that it is designed by the Chief Minister of Bengal herself. The place is soon to have a visitor’s gallery open to public. Apart from that, further minutiae about the eatery and the opening date are yet to be disclosed.
