Newton Made Its Entry in The Best Foreign Language Film Category At Oscars.

Amit Masurkar’s movie Newton will be India’s official entry to Oscars 2018 in the Best Foreign Language Film Category. The Film Federation of India (FFI) made an official statement recently. The FFI Secretary General Supran Sen, “‘Newton’ has been selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. It was unanimously chosen from 26 entries this year” 

The lead actor in this film is Rajkumar Rao who plays Newton Kumar. He plays the role of a presiding election officer who is trying his best to survive corruption and attempt to conduct a fair election system in Chattisgarh village despite of the Naxalite violence. 

The movie ‘Newton’ is produced by Drishyam Films and is also starring Anjali Patil and Raghubir Yadav. It was released on Spetember 22. 

Newton will compete with 26 other films; such as ‘In the Fade’ from Germany, ‘First They Killed My Father’ from Cambodia, ‘The Square’ from Sweden, ‘Beats Per Minute’ from France and ‘Sawan’ from Pakistan.

Newton got very good review from all the viewers and celebrities tweeted about it as well. Bollywood Icon Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “Saw the film ‘Newton’... its stark reality was a treat to watch! An eye opener on many aspects!”
